The Autoslide Wireless Infrared Motion Sensor uses a wireless connection to communicate with the Autoslide and MultiDrive Systems. It can be installed above the door for use by people or installed on the side of the door jamb to be used by pets. When the infrared beam from the sensor is broken by an approaching person or pet, the Autoslide system will immediately be triggered to open the sliding door and provide hands-free convenience. The door will remain in the open position as long as the beam is broken. Once the field clears, the door will begin to close.
The infrared beam height is adjustable, allowing it to be set so that an approaching young child will not activate the door and be given easy access outside of the home. It is important to note that the installation of only one IR Motion Sensor will only automate the sliding door from one side. To provide a full hands-free solution, two Autoslide Infrared Wireless Motion Sensors will need to be installed, one inside and one outside.
Please Note: Infrared Sensors are sensitive to direct sunlight and intense heat packages. It is not recommended to install these types of sensors outdoors if the installation placement will receive direct sunlight. As an alternative, a wireless microwave sensor could be used on the outside.

"It started a little rocky for us because we have a customer slider but with a little bit of brain power, the autoslide and these sensors are a lifesaver when it comes to our pets. We have 3 dogs and they are all bell trained but let me tell how many times you have this get up to let them out. I no longer have to do that:) This wasn’t a cheap set up, but it is real good quality and it was worth every cent."
Difficulty in setting a consistent range
"We have tried over and over to set the range to time the door opening with the walking cadence. However, it seems that you literally have to get to the sliding door, stop, and wait for the door to open. The Autoslide company has suggested a revised way to open the door."

IR Sensor Addition
"I have two dogs, one larger than the other. The tag system was not an option for my requirements so I purchased the mats. The dogs had so difficulty negotiating them and also one of the dogs liked camping out on them. This would exclude the other pet from exiting or entering depending on whichever mat was 'blocked'. I purchase the IR sensors to replace the mats and after some repositioning the sensors have been great. Wish I purchase them in the first place. I've located them high enough not to see a dog lying down but sufficient to see a dog approaching the door."
