The Autoslide Hardwired Infrared Motion Sensor is an add-on accessory for the Autoslide automatic sliding door system and can be purchased either individually or as a twin pack. The IR Motion Sensor connects to the Autoslide using the cables that are included. It can be installed above the door for people or low on the door jamb for pet use. When the IR beam from the sensor is broken by an approaching person or pet, the Autoslide system will immediately be triggered to open the door and provide hands-free convenience. This is especially helpful when your hands are full or if a certain family member has trouble remembering to shut the door behind them. The IR beam length is adjustable, allowing it to be set so that an approaching young child will not activate the door. Because the IR Sensor is hardwired to the Autoslide system, it does not require any batteries for operation. It is important to note that the installation of only one IR Motion Sensor will only automate the sliding door one-way. To fully automate your sliding door from the inside and outside, two Infrared Motion Sensors will need to be installed.
What's Included
Hardwired Infrared Motion Sensor (two in the twin pack)
Cables to wire sensor to the Autoslide system
Mounting screws
Important Notice: Infrared sensors are sensitive to direct sunlight and intense heat. Therefore, we do not recommend installing these sensors outdoors in areas exposed to direct sunlight. As an alternative, consider using a wireless microwave sensor for outdoor installations.
"First, all of the installation instructions are for an older version. We spent a lot of time figuring out things on our own, and the system works well with some caveats. The app would only install on my 2022 cell phone, and it worked for only one day before failing. The app does not work on my 2026 android. I tried to call customer service for help, but no one answered. I left a message and did not receive a call back. Finally, there should be a warning with the "heavy door" setting (which I got since my door was older although in good shape), which, thankfully, I did not need because my dog put his body halfway in and out the door. The door began to close on him and it did NOT retract with pressure. Luckily, I was standing right there because it was a struggle to open that door and he was crying in pain. I will never use that setting again."

Real work saver!
"Great for my two border collies. No longer have to answer their bark to go in and out dozens of times a day. Be sure to install them low enough on the door to match the animal’s height."

MY DOGS LOVE THESE
"Had my sliding door automated with an Autoslide years ago. Life is so much easier!!! I think my Autoslide must have let my dogs in and out thousands of times over the years without a glitch. Super dependable and reliable, Autoslide is a "must have" if you have dogs and a sliding door."

Q&A
can this be set so a small dog can get in and out. if so will it accomodate a larger dog also.
Have small dogs (yorkie) and they work fine. The fob is a little big, but they get used to it. I think it could work for dogs of mixed size, within reason. The dogs set it off when they are about a foot away. So if you set the sensor just above the head of the smallest dog, and the largest dog's fob hangs down from its collar l, such that it's not too far above the sensor, it should work. I hope this helps.
