"This review relates to order #8470. This was dispatched from the USA, but when I queried why FedEx demanded import duty from me, it seemed that it should have been from the Australian office. Anyway, I then received the package of equipment from the Australian office and have installed successfully in most respects, but I'm concerned that I may not have exactly what I ordered. In particular, I suspect I may have an Elite motor because it is very powerful. (My door easily passes the velcro test.) However, after opening triggered by a pet tag, the door closes regardless after about 30 seconds, even if the tag is waved around well inside the set distance. I have flicked the number 5 DIP switch to reduce the power to 75%, but my concern is that if my dog happens to stand still across the door opening, he would get crushed badly by the force needed to stop the door. Can this be changed? In all other respects, the installation works well and we are enjoying the smooth quiet operation. Minor niggles are (i) the DIP switches are very small and difficult to see and operate and (ii) the pet tags are very difficult to open for battery checking. Regards Bryan Perry"

Great product, installation and supprt need help

"Properly installed, the system works well That being said, a number of things would help with installation. The forward reverse dip switch was not explained in the instructions properly. The hiding of wires is something that needs to be considered but is not explained and if you need to use the bracket, you likely have to drill your own holes in it, and if you purchased a white unit, you will need to paint the bracket. I called support about whether I needed to change the hand of the unit because on the video it said I did and in the manual it said I didn't. It turns out I needed to reverse the closing direction but leave the hand the same. If you purchase the extensions for the power cable from them, it comes too short to be useful since the power adapter has a right angle connector on it, and that connector cannot be hidden in a standard cable tray. The power adapter should have a short 6 inch straight connector with the right angle section as an extension which could be located at the end so it can plug into the unit. They want you to have an outlet high next to the unit and that would look unsightly, especially given the size of the power adapter. They also don't provide the distance away from the gear rack. They show a maximum of one inch but no minimum. It turns out it should be 1/2" minimum to 1" maximum. Thankfully I am handy, so none of these issues were insurmountable"

Love the Autonomy

"I love the autonomy that it gives my dogs to go in and out as they please. The system works wonderfully. I received the system, and was given wonderful technical support during the installation process which made it a breeze to install and program and my dogs love it. The system works flawlessly as it is intended."

Perfect fit for pet owners

"The system is the best. We have two dogs; one large, one small. that made a conventional dog door slider insert hard. You size for one dog the other would likely be unable/not want to use. We also did not like the look of a dog door insert on a sliding patio door. One of our dogs is also not overly vocal of needing out, leading to numerous accidents inside. This system works perfectly to let both sized dogs out when they need it, even when we can’t get to the door (have rfid pet sensor). There have been no accidents/puddles left since it has been installed! The customer service from Autoslide was awesome also. The wireless push buttons to operate the door were accidentally left out of the package. One email to their staff of the issue and 24 hours later a email response that the buttons are being shipped out to me. You guys are wonderful and have an amazing product. Would definitely buy again and recommend to anyone."

My dog loves it

"This sliding door device makes a world of difference. We got our dog ~ 3 months prior to Covid where businesses started letting their employees (such as myself) to work from home. Since then, there has always been someone with my dog. The time has now come to return to work but felt bad as he left in the house alone for the first time in a long time. This sliding door allows him to exit to the back yard at will. If he finds the need to use the bathroom, no one has to be home to let him out. There are a few quirks I figured out on my own and to do some modifications as my sliding door is not 100 percent compatible with this system but non the less, the end result was a mount that looked OEM and is functional to my satisfaction. Emails were sent and received replies typically the same or next day where each one was addressed. Highly recommend this product for those looking for a sliding door automation device"

Pet tag

"Biggest issue is the battery life on the pet tag, didn't even last 2 weeks and it's very difficult to get it open and not damage the case to replace the batteries."

great product but customer service not so

"The product is awesome. Works as stated. Our dog was hesitant at first to use the door but after a few treats she's learned to love her magically opening door. My only gripe was the phone call I made to a grumpy operator who promised a service tech would call me back but never did - I worked through the challenge myself - and an email query I sent but was never responded to."
