Downloading and Installing Android App APK
If you are running Android 15 or 16 and see an error saying the following:
This app isn't available for your device because it was made for an older version of Android.
You can download and install the Android app APK by following these instructions.
To install an app from an APK on an Android device, first enable "Install unknown apps" in your device's settings, then download the APK file, find it in your file manager, and tap it to begin the installation. Here are the necessary steps:
1. Enable Installing Unknown Apps
This setting allows you to install apps from sources other than the Google Play Store.
- Open Android Settings > Apps > Special app access > Install unknown apps.
- Select the app you will use to install the APK (e.g., Chrome, a file manager) and toggle Allow to ON.
2. Download the APK file
Using a web browser on your phone, download the APK file below.
3. Install the app
- Open your phone's file manager (often called My Files or File Browser).
- Navigate to the folder where you saved the APK file.
- Tap the APK file to start the installation.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation. You may need to confirm the installation or tap "Install" again.
